With Bush delivering a speech on the secret CIA prisons and laying out his plans for the Military tribunals, one thought crossed my mind:
So we've arrested the Butlers, Janitors, Paper-Pushers, and Dimwits of Al-Queda, but the CEO is still at large?
What are we dealing with here: Enron? Osama Bin Laden got away with the worst act of terror on American soil and he gets to sit in his cave, tape new calls for terror, build new terrorists groups in Iraq and Afghanistan, and just over all keeps on living!
There must be a reason for this of a purely political sort. Every time an election rolls around we get a new "National Plan to Combat Terrorism," Homeland Security ratchets up the threat protection levels, and Bush gives speeches on how we must fight Terrorism/Extremism/Fascism (I've already delivered my two cents on that).
I'll leave it to Keith Olbermann to discuss the ramifications of the Nexus of Politics and Terror on the fate and future of the American public.
