From the "Lesson for Orange County" file, I came across this article from Robert F. Kennedy on the voter fraud that occurred in Ohio. Kerry really won, but due to the Pentagon shutting down their voter website early, Democratic registrations being shredded in six battleground states (by a company hired by the RNC. Gee, this looks like Orange County), and voting machines malfunctioning and failing to register 20,000 presidential ballots Shrub won. When we boil this all down and look specifically at Ohio, we find that polling stations were not accurately allocated and polling stations sometimes didn't work. I'm sure that the Registrar of Voters is during his best to make sure that these problems don't occur on Tuesday (according to the seminar that Neal Kelley conducted at the Central Committee meeting), but I don't doubt that Democrats will have problems with their registrations.
In other news, Westly is starting to poll ahead of Angelides, according to the latest Field Poll numbers. The race is still a dead heat with 35% for Westly, 34% for Angelides, 5% someone else, and 26% undecided. It's the 26% that scares me the most, not the fact that the difference between the two is still well within the margin of error.
My dad will be in DC to scare the Supreme Court. Just kidding, he'll be at the Supreme Court Historical Society gala. I went three years ago and sat through a lecture by Chief Justice Rehnquist on the Supreme Court during the Civil War and took a behind the scenes tour conducted by the Historical Society. Jay Sekalow stood right next to me during the reception, I should have gotten into a constructive discussion of the posting of the ten commandments (they are not the ten commandments, they are stone tablets with the numbers I-X on them) above the Justice's head in the main chamber.
Peace out and Vote!
